Nov 10. Accompanied by the Mexican ambassador to the United Kingdom, Hon. Josefa González Blanco, the head of the Ministry of Tourism (Sectur) held a bilateral meeting with the Parliamentary Undersecretary of State for America and the Caribbean of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Commonwealth, and Development of the United Kingdom (FCDO), Minister David Rutley, with whom he highlighted the importance of British and European tourism in Mexico.
He explained the actions carried out by the Government of Mexico in tourism, such as the creation of new products, the development of air connectivity and airport infrastructure, and specified that on the issue of travel alerts these should be focused to inform properly to tourists, and feel safe to travel to destinations in Mexico.
As part of the work tour at the WTM, and taking place in the Residence of Mexico in the United Kingdom, the Secretary of Tourism held an important meeting with tour operators and travel agents from the luxury segment with the purpose of presenting the wide tourist offer that our country has for this segment and the importance of the arrival of the high-spending traveler.
He pointed out that thanks to the policies implemented by President Andrés Manuel López Obrador during the pandemic of not restricting international flights, the application of biosanitary protocols and the vaccination strategy, it has allowed this industry in Mexico to be recovered, for what it receives with the open arms to travelers from the UK and Europe.
