The Bahamas and Jamaica are seeing significant jumps in flight bookings, according to a new report from CheapOair on U.S. traveler trends.
The online travel agency’s report showed that The Bahamas and Jamaica have seen among the biggest increases in airline ticket bookings of any international destination.
“Vaccinations are continuing to roll out across the USA, so the American consumer is becoming more confident where travel is concerned. This, coupled with the stringent hygiene protocols put in place by airlines and airports worldwide, is fueling rising interest in booking airline tickets to global destinations,” said Glenn Cusano, Co-CEO and CFO of Fareportal, the parent company of CheapOair and One Travel.
The Bahamas saw a 203 percent increase in flight bookings in April compared to January, while Jamaica saw a 143 percent jump in flight bookings in the same period. Other Caribbean destinations have also experienced record bookings are the Dominican Republic saw a 134 percent increase, while Puerto Rico’s bookings rose by 13 percent.
