Colombia: The Quarantine is Over, but Not the Pandemic

Read Time:54 Seconds

The government has instructed population not to lower our guard with the protection measures.

With the end of the quarantine last Monday, Colombia began what authorities have called the new normality in which self-care will be the basis of all prevention against Covid-19 and isolation will only apply to people or regions that require it due to the advance of the pandemic.

Of course, as health authorities have explained, the importance of reopening the country is based on strict compliance with health protocols designed for each economic activity.

Beyond that, there are a number of strategies that will help to address this new phase of the pandemic while dramatically reducing the risk of becoming infected or putting others at risk.

But most of them are based on the norms of coexistence of the new normality, among which are: correct use of masks, social distancing, frequent hand washing and isolation in the presence of symptoms or proximity to a confirmed case.

All this, of course, under the evidence that science has built around the virus.
