COVID-19 Travel Protocols in The Caribbean

Anguilla

Border Status: Government accepting visitor entry applications beginning August 21.

Pre-entry negative COVID-19 PCR test proof: Required within three to five days of arrival.

COVID-19 testing on arrival: All visitors; second test administered on day 10 of visit.

Entry procedure: Visitors must pre-register online at Anguilla Tourist Board website and submit negative PCR test and proof of health/travel insurance policy. Electronic certificate authorizing travel will be issued once application is approved. Guests restricted to accommodations until negative second test result is achieved.

Health/travel insurance: Required.


Antigua & Barbuda

Border Status: Open to international visitors.

Pre-entry negative COVID-19 PCR test proof: Required within seven days of arrival.

COVID-19 testing on arrival: No.

Entry procedure: Travelers subject to assessment for symptoms through temperature checks and completion of health declaration form. Arriving passengers will be monitored for COVID-19 for up to 14 days.

Travel insurance: Not required


Aruba

Border Status: Open to international visitors.

Pre-entry negative COVID-19 PCR test proof: Strongly encouraged.

COVID-19 testing on arrival: Required for travelers who arrive without proof of negative test.

Entry procedure: Travelers who do not provide a negative test prior to arrival will be tested at the airport. Travelers who test positive will be placed in isolation until testing negative.

Health/travel insurance: Required; must purchase locally, $15 per day.


The Bahamas

Border Status: Open to international visitors.

Pre-entry negative COVID-19 PCR test proof: Required within 10 days of arrival.

COVID-19 testing on arrival: Free at airport or $150 including day pass at approved hotel during waiting period.

Entry procedure: Travelers must complete an online ED card prior to arrival and receive a barcode which must be presented at entry. Mandatory 14-day quarantine for all visitors.

Health/travel insurance: Required; must purchase locally, $15 per day.


Barbados

Border Status: Open to international visitors.

Pre-entry negative COVID-19 PCR test proof: Advised.

COVID-19 testing on arrival: Required for travelers without proof of negativeCOVID-19 PCR test.

Entry procedure: Travelers required to complete online immigration/customs form (www.travelform.gov.bb) and submit 24 hours prior to travel. Visitors advised to take COVID-19 PCR test 72 hours prior to arrival to be considered for fast-track processing. Traveler’s risk category determined by risk associated with any country he/she has traveled to or through within 21 days of arrival at Barbados. U.S. travelers deemed “high risk;” Canadian travelers “medium risk.”

Belize

Curacao

Dominican Republic

Border Status: Open to international visitors.

Pre-entry negative COVID-19 PCR test proof: Required within five days of arrival.

COVID-19 testing on arrival: Required for travelers who arrive without proof of a negative COVID-19 PCR test or who show symptoms on arrival.

Entry procedure: Passengers screened vis temperature checks; passengers showing symptoms tested at airport; 14-day hotel quarantine for positive travelers.

Travel insurance: Not required.


Dominica

Border Status: Open to international travelers.

Pre-entry negative COVID-19 PCR test proof: Required 24 to 72 hours prior to travel.

COVID-19 testing on arrival: Rapid test and screening.

Entry procedure: Travelers must present clearance to travel obtained via Discover Dominica website and will undergo health assessment and temperature check on arrival.

Positive COVID-19 test procedure: Fourteen-day quarantine if deemed necessary.

Travel insurance: Not required.


Grenada

Border Status: Open to international travelers.

Pre-entry negative COVID-19 PCR test proof: Required within seven days of travel for travelers from medium- and high-risk countries.

COVID-19 testing on arrival: Required for medium- and high-risk travelers.

Entry procedure: Travelers must complete and submit a Health Declaration form prior to travel and download Grenada’s Contract Tracing App prior to departure. High-risk visitors will be PCR tested within 48 hours of arrival and required to spend up to 14 days in state-approved accommodations at their expense. Individuals will be cleared medically after two negative tests within 48 hours.

Positive COVID-19 test procedure: Required 14-day quarantine at state-approved facility.

Travel insurance: Required.


Puerto Rico

Border Status: Open to international travelers.

Pre-entry negative COVID-19 PCR test proof: Required within 72 hours of travel.

COVID-19 testing on arrival: Mandatory for travelers who arrive without proof of a negative COVID-19 PCR test result.

Entry procedure: Arriving travelers must complete online Travel Declaration Form from the Puerto Rico Health Department, show a negative molecular COVID-19 test result and obtain an Airport Exit Confirmation QR Code. Travelers will automatically receive QR Code when uploading molecular test results to the Puerto Rico Health Department online portal.

Travel insurance: Not required.


Jamaica

Border Status: Open to international travelers.

Pre-entry negative COVID-19 test proof: Required within two to five days of travel.

Entry procedure: Travelers are required to submit Travel Authorization document no more than five days prior to arrival. Travelers will be notified of approval to enter Jamaica via email and will be required to present their authorization at check-in to board their departing flight.

Travel insurance: Not required.


Martinique

Border Status: Closed to international travelers

Saint Lucia

Border Status: Open to international travelers.

COVID-19 testing on arrival: Required for visitors showing symptoms on arrival.

Entry procedure: Travelers must complete the pre-arrival Registration Form. Arriving passengers will undergo screening and temperature checks. Symptomatic passengers will be isolated and tested. Travelers testing positive will be transferred to the Respiratory Hospital for treatment and care at their cost. Others will be transferred by a certified taxi to approved COVID-19 accommodation. Guests are required to remain on property except to participate in hotel-booked water-based excursions.

Saint Vincent and the Grenadines

Border Status: Open to international travelers.

Pre-entry negative COVID-19 test proof: Required for U.S. travelers.

COVID-19 testing on arrival: Yes.

Entry procedure: Travelers required to complete and submit “VINCY” coronavirus questionnaire form online via the SVG government website or on flight prior to arrival. Visitors required to undergo a COVID-19 PCR test upon arrival and must be booked in a Tourism Authority-approved hotel, where guests will be quarantined five nights. Travelers will is free to leave hotel property when rapid antibody or PCR test results return negative.

Saint Maarten

Border Status: Open to international travelers.

Pre-entry negative COVID-19 test proof: Required within 72 hours of departure.
