July 21. Grenada tourism officials are out to show just how welcoming their Caribbean Island destination is for visitors. They recently hosted an intimate dinner for a small group of journalists in New York City to share news that they have made it even easier for travelers to visit and improved tourism infrastructure over the last two years.
Petra Roach, CEO of the Grenada Tourism Authority, spoke with Insider Travel Report about what is new and upcoming on the island, as well as her own favorite places in Grenada. As of April 4, 2022, Grenada discontinued both COVID testing upon arrival and COVID vaccinations are no longer required for entry into the county.
Improved Tourism Numbers: Prior to the pandemic, 2019 was Grenada’s top year for tourism to the country.
More Internal Flights: Located in the southern Caribbean, Grenada, a three-island country, includes Carriacou and Petite Martinique Islands.
Culinary Grenada: Grenada also is expanding as a culinary destination. In 2018, the destination named Culinary Capital by the World Food Travel Association.
New Travel Advisor Programs: Grenada also has improved its relations with travel advisors and stepped up programs that cater to their needs.
