November 22. Iberia continues to boost its main long-haul markets in Latin America and the United States, with the aim of stimulating travel and boosting economic activity in the region. During the northern winter season, the airline increased its operations in Colombia and Mexico, launched its new route to the Maldives (MLE), and also announced new destinations to the United States for the summer of 2022.
- Mexico City (MEX): Iberia’s most profitable route in the region will see an increase of five weekly flights over the current operation: between April and October, it will have 19 weekly flights, operated by Airbus A350-900.
- Colombia: As of February 2022, Iberia will have two daily flights between Madrid (MAD) and Bogota (BOG) with Airbus A350-900, thereby exceeding the capacity offered prior to the pandemic. In addition, Iberia will resume operations to Cali (CLO) on December 2 and will resume operations during the northern winter season.
- Argentina: Depending on the month, the Spanish airline’s most emblematic market will have additional frequencies. From April to July it will schedule 12 weekly flights between Madrid (MAD) and Buenos Aires (EZE), which will increase to 14 during the month of August, and to 13 in September and October.
During the 2022 summer season, Iberia will offer its largest selection of destinations to the United States with a total of nine: The lifting of travel restrictions has allowed the airline to significantly increase its operations to the country.
