Government issue a re-opening notice for the Machu Picchu tourist park. The re-opening is effective on November 1st, yet it is balanced with a restriction on the number of daily visitor. The restriction aims to ensure the safety of the public in light of the resurgence of Covid-19. As such, Starting on November 1st, only 675 tourists per-day will be allowed to enter the site. This represents a considerable reduction compared pre-Covid-19 levels of 3,000 to 5,000 visitors per-day.
These tourists will be required to move in groups of eight people accompanied by an authorized guide, as well as to maintain a social distance of 1.5 to 2 meters.
