Puerto Rican Governor Wanda Vazquez stated that the spike in coronavirus cases happened at the same the island announced its reopening for tourists from the US. So, the governor decided to shut down bars, gyms, theaters, and casinos until July 31. Besides these measures, the sale of alcohol is forbidden after 7 pm, restaurants work at 50% of their capacity, access to beaches is allowed to those exercising exclusively, and there is a curfew from 10 pm to 5 am. The governor also said that when the borders are finally reopened, the use of face masks and having a negative COVID-19 test result will be compulsory.
