April 18. The Buenos Aires Tourism Entity confirmed that, during the long weekend of Holy Week, the best numbers at the tourist level since the start of the pandemic were recorded. The City received more than 90 thousand national and international tourists and the registered expense was $3,073 million, of which about 60% corresponds to accommodation, one of the subsectors hardest hit during the pandemic.
In turn, the City’s hotel industry registered an occupancy of 92%, numbers similar to the main tourist places in the country, and continues to increase in relation to recent weekends (85% on the Lollapalooza weekend and 67 % on the Carnival holiday).
Of the more than 90 thousand tourists who came to the City, the majority came from the interior of our country. In turn, Uruguay was the country that contributed the most foreign tourists, above Brazil, Chile and Paraguay.
