The beaches of Santa Marta (Colombia) Will Reopen Under Safe Conditions

Through protocols established by the first Beaches Committee of 2020, the reopening of the Santa Marta coastline was determined from September 18 and will contemplate the opening of urban and rural areas of the District. For the moment, the areas of the Tayrona National Natural Park will remain closed and without access.

According to the statements of Gina Cantillo, the director of the District Tourism Institute (Indetur), the reopening model has five phases that translate into a list of responsibilities that have already been activated, and include cleaning and oxygenation of beaches, water, and sand studies, training, relocation of tents, among others.
