The Tobago Chamber of Commerce is Seeking to Reopen the Local Economy

Read Time:36 Seconds

The Tobago Chamber of Commerce is pleading with the Prime Minister to lift all restrictions and reopen the Tobago economy.  Chamber President Martin George said: ”Considering Tobago’s ability to contain the virus and the island’s low rate of infection, the government could use Tobago as a “test case” to guide the country on the path it should take to revive the national economy”.  Mr. George added that “Protocols should still be in place to enforce social distancing, proper hygiene, COVID-19 detection and other measures to continue to limit the spread.  Yet, if the country can manage to reopen the Tobago economy, it may put in motion the same model that was used to reopen Trinidad’s economy”.
