Tourism Industry Struggles as Americans and Brazilians Are Barred from Entry in Europe

Now that summer has arrived in the northern hemisphere some countries are reopening their borders, but with some restrictions. For example, Brazilians are not allowed to enter to the US nor to Europe. McKinsey & Company estimates that the tourism industry may only see a full recovery no sooner than 2023. Paris is one of the hardest-hit cities by the tourism crisis as Americans and Brazilians represent a large percentage of the city’s number of visitors. Americans, in particular, are the ones who spend the most when traveling in Europe.
