June 7. The Mexican ultra-low-cost carrier Volaris and Caravelo will launch a new, all-you-can-fly subscription plan called Pase Anual. In an interview with Simple Flying, Holger Blankenstein, the airline’s Executive Vice President, talked about this new plan, which is the fourth introduced by Volaris alongside the v.pass, the V.club, and the recent points-earning association with Oxxo.
Today, Volaris announced the launch of Pase Anual (or Annual Pass in English), an all-you-can-fly subscription. This program will allow passengers to enjoy one-way flights on all Volaris’ network, including international destinations. The Mexican ultra-low-cost carrier currently operates about 240 routes in Mexico, North America, Central America, and South America.
Starting today, interested travelers can sign up for Pase Anual for an annual launch price of 3,999 Mexican pesos (or about $230). This is a discounted price from the 7,999 regular price ($460). Travelers can start redeeming their flights from August 16. They still need to pay taxes, ancillary products (such as checked bags, seats, and food), and other possible charges.
Besides having to pay taxes, charges, and ancillary products, Volaris’ new Pase Anual also has a catch. Subscribers can only book domestic flights one day before departure and international flights up to three days before departure. That means travelers must have complete flexibility in their travel plans.
