Portugal Extends Covid Rules

July 29. In sharp contrast to other countries, Portugal extended its Covid restrictions until August 31 and warned “additional measures” may need to be taken if cases increase in autumn.

The Portuguese council of ministers has extended the state of alert in the country to maintain current rules, including the mask mandate.

Everyone aged 10 and over must wear a mask on public transport, when travelling by air, in taxis and private car hires, and on entry to medical facilities, retirement homes and nursing homes.
