New Carnival Cruise Line ship floated out

July 24. New Carnival Cruise Line ship Carnival Jubilee has been floated out of its German shipyard ahead of sea trials planned for November.

The latest Excel-class vessel to be powered by liquified natural gas (LNG) is due to join sister ships Mardi Gras and Carnival Celebration in service in late December.

Carnival Jubilee will move into its next phase of construction alongside the Meyer Werft shipyard’s outfitting pier in Papenburg.

The ship will sail year-round western Caribbean itineraries from Galveston in Texas and is is four times larger than its predecessor.

The first Carnival Jubilee sailed from Galveston in 2002.

The new Carnival Jubilee and will bring four times the fun for Carnival guests to enjoy.

Carnival Cruise Line president Christine Duffy said: “The Texas star on Carnival Jubilee’s bow is a symbol of our commitment to the Port of Galveston.

As the first cruise line to sail year-round from Galveston, we have a long history with the community, and our next new ship is our latest investment in support of the local economy’s impressive growth while delivering innovative experiences for our guests.
